The kid made a big mistake, that'* for sure. But, just keep this in mind before completely bashing him and calling him an idiot, there are plenty of members on THIS site even who have seen triple digit speeds, some even over 140 MPH. You would be amazed by the number of people who have done this, THEY just didn't get caught. Keep that in mind.

It'* one thing to speed. But that'* rediculous. I'm not sure what time he got busted, but on RT. 30 at 1am there is still quite a bit of traffic. All the semi trucks take it at night b/c the highway is jacked up around here due to construction. I myself have had my car to 105mph, but not on a road that is a US Highway that is filled with stoplights and semi'*.

If you going to do it, do it in the middle of nowhere. Even if it was at night, that road still looks busy 24/7. I do my runs on a 2 lane with a wheat field on each side

That kind of driving especially when you are young and inexperienced is nothing but suicide.

Jeff'* (94SSEgold) dad was killed driving a firebird in excess of 140 mph at night and over drove his headlights, didn't negotiate a slight curve and wrecked and was thrown from the car through the t-tops.

Speeding at night is stupid period. You can't see that far and overrun you're headlights. Not only that but you can't see cops hiding.
