Is 100k miles simply psychological?

My current Bonne, also a company car, does not belong to the fleet. I bought it, and charge milage for company duties. With the miles I expect it will run, I get the best of both worlds.
1) The Car I want to drive, with the supercharger.
2) Partial payments from the company, depending on how much I use it for work.
None the less, without a doubt, the best car I've ever had.

My car made its way past 300,000km (186k mi) a few weeks ago after sitting at 295,000 for about a year, undriven. Easy work, I don't have to change my sig My car'* unrebuilt at all, tranny is smooth, motor runs great.
On the other hand, our '98 Nissan Altima has 165,000km (102k mi). We purchased it at 150,000km (93k mi). Guess what? It'* got oil on the spark plug. Which means potentially bad piston rings.
Cars CAN still go bad at 100,000 miles (160k km). It'* all in how you take care of it, and whether the mileage is all city or highway (that affects the tranny a lot too). 3800/Toyota for life, for me.

As one of the high mile club...
Just wondering how you would rate your driving?
1 - Cruiser
2 - Semi-Aggressive
3 - Aggressive
I am basically a semi-aggressive but have not had a car that is over 130k
I bought my 93 Cutlass with 42k on it and drove it Agrressive to 129k when i sold it.
It ran perfect even til I got rid of it...
Just curious how you 175k to 250k'ers drive?

Bonney was my work car for about a year. it saw 200-300 miles a day, five days a week. Mostly 65-75 MPH. I didnt race it nor baby it. Very little full throttle redlining. I treat the Malibu the same way.

You know, sometimes bringing your car up to higher RPM'* can be a good thing - it cleans out all the sludge and junk in your vehicle.
When a grandma drives her car short distances and never goes above 2500rpm, and then you buy her car, well, take a peek at how much crud is in the motor after you look under the oil cap (mine'* clean)
"The Italian Tuneup" works sometimes

My 91 made it to 180k (KMs) before it'* engine died.
That'* slightly over 100k miles. I had a new engine dropped in and she ran fine until 250k (KMs)... where now I need a new tranny.
On the other hand I bought my 97 @ 178k (KMs)... just slightly over 100k miles again, and it'* running good, just some minor problems.
