I just paid 3200 in Tax on a used truck to get plates on in !!!

Never mind 100.00 for the sticker and 30 for the plates !!

I onlypaid 11,500 for it but its worth 28,500 thats what you pay tax on.

Huh? Where do you live? Out where I am in Illinois you pay tax on the price you pay for it. I'd be furious if, for example, my dad sold me his 2008 tacoma for $5k and I got taxed $25k on it.

He lives in Canadia, they do things a little different.

I went to my insurance company who an hour before insured my truck for 18,950.. and showed them what it was worth LOL needless to say they increased replacement value !!

I tried to plate it on my business to avoid this but oh well

I think it is crazy... Figure the tax on a new vehicle..

Collected once, Lets say its worth 50,000

times that by 14% =7000

Now sell that vehicle 10 times.. and figure out the tax collected every time it changes ownership !! Its freaking INSANE !!

We have a Black Book here too, it'* what is considered the trade-in value of the car. Blue Book is the retail value.
