I am not sure about the brick and mortor stores, but HF often has 6-ton jack stands on sale that are quite handy...for about $19.99 or something like that.

Quick story....
I once posted on another forum that I had just picked these 6-ton stands up for working on my truck as they are taller too. One idoit started razzing me for buying jack stands from HF as he maintained that it was cheap junk. He wanted to know how I thought could trust my life with them and further stated that he had welded up his own "superior" stands. My response to that criticism is as follows:

First, I believe that a 6-ton rating is a 6-ton rating, even IF the safety margin for error as tested might vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Second, They are rated for 6 tons and I am using them for no more than 2 tons. Third, we use these same jack stands at work when we work on trailers with modules already loaded on them. These loads are around 6 tons and we have never experienced so much as damage to a jack stand. Fourth, just how much does he think his home-built stands are rated for?

OK, so it wasn't a quick story...so shoot me. :P

Badnit..at $12 a box.. skip the gloves. Autozone has them in the 2 ply for $10 a box.

**** Also, add 8% for NY Sales Tax and a bit more for Paypal fees.. its not much.. like .50 for every $10 or something... ***
