The wife decided to organize my garage last weekend. So today I go to work on the car and she piled all her crap in front of the workbench. So I spend 1/2hr throwing her stuff outta my way just to get to my tools, drop a socket down the firewall side of the engine and now can't even find a frickin flashlight to see where the hell it went and its my only 10mm deepwell... I'm so friggin upset right now and I told her "Don't touch my garage"

Trip to the yard was a waste, they closed at 5 my fridge magnet says 8.
The nearest dealer that has a pushrod in stock is 174 miles away and I didn't bother asking which way. I guess I won't be driving her tonight. :(
And lastly to finish off this perfect day; I get to do dishes, laundry, and cook dinner.

Hope tomorrow is better.
If that 174 mile trip brings you my way, let me know.

Ok today was slightly more productive.
We lost power at about 10am so I figured this would be a great time to work on the car some. So I went to the junkyard and pulled 6 more pushrods and checked them at the counter, 2 were bent so I took 4 home.
I Dropped a rocker down the blackhole on the firewall side of the engine (oily fingers). still havent found any of my flashlights except the big one witht he dead battery.
It was #4 intake. Anyone got an idea where it went? It was resting on the exhaust manifold and fell further when I reached in for it.... whereabouts unknown at this point. Fortunately I had the foresight to grab some spares last week. I also noticed my valve springs are yellow. Hmmmm, I gotta PM Ryan/Boosty on what they are and if the odd side is the same or stock. Anyone want to guess?
While I had the even side tore down, I took the time to replace the plugs with TR55'*. It was rather nice to have all this ROOM!!!! Strangely the wires were numberd 2,4,& 6. Are these really really old or do Delco'* come pre-labelled like this?
After buttoning up the engine, with only 1 bracket bolt (by the egr) being dropped down into the void, I did a few launches front & backwards and as a reward the beast spewed forth my missing 10mm deepwell but then the check engine light came on, just to remind me who'* boss, and I found that I forgot to plug in the egr connector.
With the power out to the house, I had set my travel alarm clock for 2pm and it went off to remind me to go to work. While I was taking a shower the power came back on , they're widening a road a few blocks over and had to move telephone poles, and my bedroom alarmclock was flashing 3:18pm. It has a battery in it to maintain the time but won't display it when the powers out <sigh> dam travel alarmclock!!! Late for work again. I wish I woulda thought about checking the time with my cellphone then. Too little too late now. LOL Work was understanding thou I was surprised to see the Dept head doing my job when I came in. He was kewl with it.
Well more good news is all day yesterday I thought it was Saturday, so having the weekend off is like a bonus at this point! LMAO!
