Default prone to any problems?

Here'* a newbie question...

The Alternator!

But this is a common problem no matter what Bonneville(and other GM H/C Bodies) model year you own.

Don't worry though, it'* a relatively cheap and easy fix if/when it goes.

Welcome to the club. Bonnevilles are excellent cruisin rides! I have 2 and one is more sportier and the other is classier. But they are both great cars and I am glad to have them. I enjoy turning heads wherever I go. My 91 makes people think it is just cruising until I pass them and leave them behind.

Christine- I loved the poem. True words right there!!

Default 3800 AWESOME MOTOR

This is my second SER 1 3800 car the first was N/A a 91 Regal Limeted (to 1 billion cars) white 4 door with all the chrome moulding, it was the first car I ever modded I paited the engine compartment like 5 times different color style everytime it ended up red white and blue (for the colors of the buick symbol not the flag although being patriotic is cool) but i had removed the MAF screen and done a K&N setup i also did plugs and wires and headlights and 225/60/15 Pirelli tires on the stock rims, but i never did ne thing with the exhaust. Oh how I wish I woulda kept her, oh well she got traded in on the Bonne so I guess some good came of it.

To date ive owned 4 FWD GMs and 1 RWD
2 Ws an H and a J........and a G
91 Sunbird LE 2 door 2.0 ohc automatic bright yellow ( gutless wonder)
91 Lumina Euro 4 door 3.1 MPFI automatic white (i still own this car its my beater/winter car-ive driven it since I was 17)
91 Buick Regal limeted 4 door 3.8 SER 1 4 spd automatic white (if it werent for the windshield leak i may still own her)
My current Bonne (the pride of my fleet of 2 cars that is)
86 El Camino 305 v8 automatic 3 tone blue (my first car and my first truck- I totalled her after having her 2 weeks-damn kids!!!)

Welcome to the jungle as Steve Tyler said.
As for my reasons for loving my Bonnie:

Aggressive looks without being ricer-y
Aggressive performance
Great power without the gas expense of a V8
Incredible reliability(although mine is in the shop as we speak, needing a new motor, but that was an issue of a bad dealer selling a car with a major problem already, probably caused by lack of regular maintenance, and they're eating the cost)

Comfortable interior without rolling-sofa feel
Family-car insurance, GT car performance
Character; this car has it in boat-loads
Also little things like:
Heads-Up-Display speedo
9-way adjustable power seats(driver and passenger)
8-speaker stereo
Digital compass right next to the tach
Driver info center that actually makes sense
BOOST GUAGE!!!
Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
Huge trunk

Not to mention the fact that I'm 6', 280lbs, and finding a car that I fit in, that goes this fast is a glory you little people will never understand

I have loved them since owning my 1972 Grande Ville!!! I have had an '87 SE and now the '91 SE in my sig. I will keep it until. It has room, luxury, reliability, rides excellent, parts are cheap, nice looks, and people seem to respect it for what it is: a decent, well-made car that can't really be beat!! Enjoy what you have because there are some really crappy cars out there!!! :( Luckily, yours isn't. Welcome!!!

Im with sbattert I dont really find the interest in them, I mean yea they can be somewhat fast but they are huge. You might have 250hp but with all that wieght your losing it on your time. And what i have found with american made cars is that they just suck, now dont ban me i just trying to see the attraction. The main thing i dont understand is how they are pretty much ugly.

The power of these cars cover quite a range. Sure we may be heavier but your giving away just as much with your 18'* and non functional body kit/wing. As for looks, there is no accounting for taste. I don't go to your boards calling your rides slow, so dont come here calling ours ugly

You want to know why? Its the perfect combination of luxury, refinement, class and power. You dont have an interest in these cars similar to how I lack interest in your car. Its that simple. We can sit here and bitch and moan about how one is better then other or how fast you can complete a quarter mile. Owners of cars take pride in what they own. Thats what the big deal is, Japanese, American, Korean, Italian who friggen cares???

Personally I find Integras ugly...and I would be caught dead buying one, but thats me. And what do you care?

I have an American made car and it doesnt suck. Define suck please? What is "suck" exactly?

What you dont like = suck?

Please
