Hey all!

I signed up a few months ago when I picked up a 1995 Bonneville for a winter car. I have found this site very helpful and the members are more than willing to lend their experience. I'm not new to car forums, I think I belong to 4 or 5, but spend most of my time on MNSubaru.com were I am the vendor relations guy and a moderator. My pride and joy is my 05 Subaru WRX STI that I have beefed up to 300 AWHP and 330 lb./ft. of torque. I wanted to find a car to drive in the winter so I could continue to build the STI. I picked up the Bonneville from my Father in Law that purchased the car new. It had 125K on it when I picked it up and had some serious fuel line issues and some power steering leaks. I ended up dropping the fuel tank and replacing the sending unit in the fuel tank due to all of the hard lines being completely rusted. I then tracked down the PS leak which turned out to be the PS cooler, located in a horrible spot by the way. It had completely corroded and was leaking fluid. Last week the water pump went out and swapped that out this weekend. The car is now running great and I hope I'm done wrenching on it for the winter.

Sorry for the long intro, but wanted to let you all know that I find this site very helpful and plan on spending some time here.

Thanks!
Steve

Welcome aboard Steve, you may not be completely done with the tools yet.

Give this one a read... https://www.gmforum.com/electrical-1...1999-a-303224/

And do a search here for lower intake gasket and upper intake gasket leak and coolant elbow leak. Those are your main problems. Once those are taken care of, you should be good to go for another 50,000 miles.

Thanks for the tip! I know the Father-in-law has replaced the elbow once and there is a slight leak that looks to be coming from the intake.
