I love the older ones and while we dont have alot of members with the classics, there is a section for them and often questions we as newer owners are hard pressed to answer. Sounds like a great project. If you want, take pictures and do a few write ups about the restore.

Yes, or an entire restoration thread! I had a 64 Catalina 2door. Gotten from an older lady in pristine condition in 71. Ready for the wrcking yard by 74. We never seem to see the value of things when young kids.

As for a full blown restoration, it probably wont be until this winter as I want to enjoy the top down this summer. But after the cold weather hits I will be happy to take it inside and tear into it.
