Default Professional Detailer and GM Enthusiast saying hey!

Howdy, y'all! Just joined the site after I finally found it. I've been looking all around for info on some problems a customer and personal friend of mine was having with her '03 SE. I THINK we have those problems fixed now.

Anyhow, I've been a GM enthusiast all my life, (I'm 20) and I detail several of the late-model fullsize sedans (Bonnevilles, Auroras, LeSabres, etc.) so I figure this site will be a great place to visit from time to time as my customers have issues; and I'll try to poke around the detailing area when I get a chance. Right now is my "off-season" so I'm getting kinda bored.

Personally, I drive a 2002 GMC Envoy, which I have "tricked out" with several parts from newer Envoys, and compatibly-platformed vehicles. The "other vehicle" in my stable is actually my mom'*, a 2001 Buick Century (which I won't bore you with pics of!) My Envoy is to follow, however:

Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll show one of my favorite jobs that I performed on the '03 Bonny SE I mentioned earlier. This was to repair damage caused by the driver scraping up against another car in a parking lot, about a week after obtaining the vehicle:

After the magic of detailing:

Enjoy!

Welcome

Do you use the name Shiny Lil Detlr on any of the Detailing forums?

Nice job getting the scrapes off of the bumper cladding. What product did use to achieve the results?

Thanks.... yeah I use this same name on Autopia, Detail City, and Meguiar'* Online. Or rather, I was using it on Meguiar'* Online; I'm not posting there anymore because I didn't like not being able to discuss non-Meguiar'* products on their forums (understandably, but not when it comes to a product Meg'* doesn't make an equivalent to!)

As for the bumper, (and the headlight housing) I used Meguiar'* M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish, with a Porter Cable Random-Orbital polisher and a W-8006 polishing pad. That left me with just a couple small areas to use touch-up paint on, and re-polish to blend it in. Luckily I got away without wetsanding, compounding, and all of that extra fun.

Nice work. Wanna come down to Galesburg, IL, and touch up my bumper and condition my leather?

I thought I saw your post name on Autopia. I agree about Meguiars but it is their Forum.

Good tools, proper procedure and a quality product make the job a lot easier.

Welcome to the Family. This is a great Forum to be a part of and participate with other like minded members.

LOL folks, I'm more than happy to work on your cars if you're ever in the area, but I really can't work without my shop. At least not touch-ups and etc.....
