you do not need a supercharger. all you need is a $30 part, some supercharger oil and some gasket maker.
check out INTENSE-RACING.com for the kit that has everything you need.
check out the meet section for the west coast bonneville meet near portland in July.

bonnielass, the Portland Grand Prix Club calls me Dr. Supercharger. There'* a reason for it. And I live in Corvallis.

IF it just needs a coupler change, we can do that in under an hour for under 50 bucks. If it needs more, I can tell you exactly what it needs, where to get it, and if you can live without it for a day, I can help you get it done.

Shawn it depends on what is REALLY wrong. It can't be diagnosed with a stethescope. I sent you a link to a page that can help you. Can you start a new topic in the Forced Induction section so we can help you troubleshoot it?
I have a mini-meet with EK98 from McMinnville during spring break, and we could do any repairs to yours then.
Or you could come down to Corvallis almost any time for me to look at it.

Welcome to the club!
I have a mechanic'* stethoscope myself and it'* indispensible. Probably saved me over $500 already,
BUT,
it'* not a wondertool. It'* great for finding the problem and eliminating misleading noises, but to tell exactly whats wrong, you usually need to tear into it and use the old Mk.1 eyeball.
The coupler is the most likely problem, but there are other things that can cause almost exactly the same noise, like bearings or gears.

Hey welcome to the club. I live in Gresham. You have to get together with us PDX guys and get that thing fixed. Most mechanics don't have a clue about what it needs. Like Bill said, we call him Dr. Supercharger for a reason. Should be able to get it fixed for cheaper either way.
