He guys, nice forum you've got here. I thought I'd come on in, as I may need some help with my latest purchase. I drive a silver '98 SE that is actually my Mom'*, but I'm picking up a '97 SE today. It'* got 108k miles, original owner...I'll have pics soon. Anyway, I'm 33, and we have had several Bonnies in the family. The first one was my father'* first new car, a maroon 1962 Bonneville. He later had a 1970. Then he must've taken the brown acid, because he bought a few Fords in between. Ironically, his last new car was also a maroon Bonneville, a 1988. He passed away in 1990. We've since had a 1991, and now the 1998. I bought the 1997 yesterday. It was advertised as good condition, nice leather - won't start. $800. I looked at it, and it'* actually a one-owner car, but the old guy had let his early 20-something Grandson drive it lately. I turned on the key, and not a PEEP out of the fuel pump. It'* either Light Adriatic, or Light Teal. I couldn't tell which, as it was dirty, and had a nice coat of pollen on it. It is, however, near perfect cosmetically! It has blue leather interior that is as close to perfect as it can get. I figure I'll throw a pump in it, probably an UIM on it, and go from there. It has all records from new, and the trans was rebuilt in early 2004. Anyway, I'm not new to cars, as I've had a few projects. I currently have a 1989 Jaguar XJ6 with an LT1/4L60E combo that I put in. I spun a rod bearing in it, so I'm getting another LT1 together to go in it. Anyway, good to be part of a good group. My forum family can be found at www.impalassforum.com. I've been over there for about 5 years consistently. I'll post back with pics!
Wow. Quite the collection you got going!!
Good to see another 96-99 SE in the fold (but blue leather?? Never heard ofit!!)
Welcome!
Add your location ot you profile, and you might be able to get, or be, an extra wrench while the times come (or at least a chance to talk crap and drink beer)

He did, and only then did I get the keys, and discover that the fuel pump wasn't doing anything. Being in Texas, I don't have to worry about rust. The only other thing I know it needs is one front tire.

Welcome to BC! Good to have another Bonnevile fiend here, always room for more.
Check your RPO codes (on the spare tire cover panel) and check them against the listing in TECHINFO above.
Also, a personal welcome to another Bonne owner with a blue interior. Mine'* not leather, just cloth, but apparently the blue wasn't too common if you can use the members here as any guage.

I went to paintscratch.com, as they have a pretty comprehensive color chart for most vehicles. I think the Sea Pearl would also be too dark, but it'* hard to tell from the chart. I want to believe it'* the Light Adriatic or Light Teal, just because it'* such a washed-out looking color. The fun part will be driving my new '97 to work, and telling my co-workers that I got it painted, and switched the entire interior. The next day or 2, I drive the '98, and tell 'em I didn't like the new paint and interior, and I switched it back.
