Default Newbie with a 1990 Lesabre

Hello everyone. I have a 1990 Buick Lesabre and I have just found this site, I had been using Buickforums but that site isn't very active, at least not like this one. I'm trying to learn as much as possible. When I got the car, it had just under 27,000 miles in July 05, and it had a horrible misfire that my mechanic could not locate, but thanks to a suggestion on Buickforums I replaced the coilpack. I have put 15k miles on it this year driving from my parents house in Illinois to school in Melbourne, FL

Here are the only pictures I have, sorry about not having more.

You mean the full set of guages were rare options? Makes me even gladder I have a full set of gauges on my LeSabre.
Wow! A stock cd-player? I did not think those existed back then!! I have a cd-player, but its from a 98 Grand AM, and fits nicly, except the red lights don't match the car'* green gauge lights.

So, tell us, what other goodies does that buick come with? Those look like the 14 inch wheels, or is it 15 inch? Is it the grand touring edition, or a limited? I cannot tell, but it almost looks like it has a soft-top? Does it have the rear load levelling suspension? What else????

Take real good car of that car, it extremely hard to find a car like that in such good shape these days.

OH! and you ought to put a camaro style muffler (sideways mounted) with dual outs, it looks sweet, and i bet it would look sweeter on your car!!

Have fun with it!!

Thanks for all the kind words! The car is kinda strange, being a "Limited" model, but as I found out by playing with the Buick software from 1990, it was a base limited, if that makes sense, they had a few dfferent option packages for it.

I have electric locks, windows, cruise control, power driver seat, U21 gauge package, but most importantly, the limited seat fabrics, which are so much better than the Custom cars. I have added Power passenger seat, auto down on both front windows, which I learned from this website, I also added lights in the bottom of the front door armrests, and the Concert Sound door speakers, and the keyless entry.

The Cd player is capabable of interfacing with Steering wheel controls, just like the bonneville radio that looks similar. The problem is, only two cars got the Buick wheel with controls, yet without an airbag. These are the 1989-1993 Regal, and 1991-1992 Century. The Regal has a funky square column, so thats out. The century uses the same saginaw column that the H body and most other GM cars, but only very few loaded Centuries have the option, which I have seen pictures of, but never in person. As soon as I can get ahold of one, I will add this feature.

What else...... I wish I had a soft top, and I want one, but I can't decide whether to go for it, first, and then if so, to get dark blue, or white. Car has 14 inch steel wheels with the wire hubcaps. 15 inch steel wheels with the same style wire caps were available on Electra/Park Avenues of 1990, and maybe they are something to get. I just don't think flashy chrome wheels go well with the car, I don't want it to be a gangster car.

Notable options missing for a limited include Electric mirrors and Auto climate control, nor do I have ELC. I have looked into it, and its a simple system, the compressor, height sensor, a fuse and a relay, plus the air line and obviously the air struts, it can be added, I'm working on it.

I do have the CD player, which works, but not always with CD-Rs, I'm going to make use of the warranty I got when having the CD mechanism remanufactured and maybe get the CD-Rs to play again. As I mentioned, I also have keyless entry, which I got from a Park Avenue, and its old, like everything else, but after researching, the keyless module can be fixed by reflowing all the solder joints on it.

Finally, I need to get tint when I get back down to Florida, holy cow was it bad not having it last year; does anyone down there know a good place in Brevard county to get that done?

Sorry for the long post!
matt
