Default New from Upstate New York

Hey, everybody! I recently acquired a 1999 Buick LeSabre with 33,000 miles on it. It was literally driven to church on Sundays, and not every Sunday at that. I'm pretty pleased with the quickness of the car, and definitely enjoy the cushy seats and the floaty suspension on long highway trips. No mods, save the free/cheap ones, as I'm still in college and on a budget. Looking forward to being around, and gleaning advice from this place!

Any good threads to learn about this car, or an area noobs like myself can go to find out about common problems?

Welcome to BC!

A good place to start is by reading some of the articles in TECHINFO (click on link above). There are a number of good articles there, many of which deal with the more common problems experienced by owners of the '92-99 3.8L Buick motor, in your case, the L36.

One of the other things you can do to get more info on your car is to find your RPO list.

It'* a list of letter/number codes on the underside of your spare tire cover in the trunk. It basically enumerates every option that the car has. You can find a translation for most of the codes in the Techinfo section.
Or you can post a picture/list of your RPO codes here, and we'll break it down for you.

Also, this is pretty much a must-read for you naturally-aspirated guys:
