HI Everyone,

I am now the proud owner of a 99 Bonneville SE. To say I knew anything about Bonneville'* before 2 weeks ago, well, would be a lie!

My wife, Christy was in a car accident on the 57 freeway. She was rear ended and the 98 Saturn was totaled by AAA.

So I got the internet and started looking on Autotrader and other sites. After a couple of days we had the check in our hands and went to our local Volvo dealership! YEP Volvo had a 1999 White Pontiac Bonneville SE for just about what the adjuster gave us for the Saturn. We walked out of the dealership in about 2 hours. All it took was a look at the car, feel the ride and experience the power and I was hooked.

One previous owner, and only 82,000 miles.

Now I am 54 years old and I have owned my share of new and used cars, but this is by far the nicest car I have ever owned. It seemed that I always had to buy a Van of SUV for the kids. Well now the kids are raised and on their own and I get what I want!!

Even the neighbors have come over to look at it and admire.

I have read the forums here until the wee hours of the night, and also found a 1999 owners manual that helped me understand where all the bells and whistles and switches are.

But I have to admit that all of you have been my silent partners in learning about my Bonneville.

In some ways I wish I could have found an SSEi, but then I did not know that there were any other models when I walked onto the dealership lot.

Needless to say the wife feels safer in this car than she did in the Saturn, especially when she need to get up to speed on the freeway....the Saturn was a gutless wonder!

So thanks to all of you for posting very informative information. You have made this a great experience.

ps. the wife is fine! just a few sore muscles

When I was a kid in the 60'* my family would always say......"enjoy it while your young"
and "time flies" or "life is short"......if I had known then what I know now.....I would have taken longer vacations with the kids, I would have kissed my wife more, and I would have talked with my Grandparents more........cause life does go by too fast and before you know it you are "middle age" (yea, I expect to live to be 10 :?

So I say enjoy everyday you have and spoil all your grandbabies.......

Christy and I celebrate 35 years together this July 1st....(figure that out in your head)...how young we were.......(and they said it wouldn't last)

Good advice.

I am 42 and have been involving myself as much as I can in the lives and activities of my three young daughters (without being overbearing and annoying). I really am enjoying being part of their activies, even though sometimes it is tough to keep up.

Like Vince mentioned, we don't have a whole lot of active members in southern Cal or in the Southwest, but we make up for the lack of quantity with quality .

Vince and I and agrazela are actually trying to peak some interest in a So. Cal/Southwest meet, but haven't had too much of a response or made much progress. We will probably have a mini-meet and just see who shows. Again, welcome to BC and feel free to hang out with us.
