Default New Member Here requesting some info????????????

Hello my Name is Chris Vondrasek,

I was browsing the web for people talking about the company i work for.
I search the web for forums that POR-15 is a Topic in and go in and Offer some info. I currently am part of 15 Forums that i appear in daily to answer questions and inform people of specials and offers. I'm not trying to sell my product (Unless this is an option then i would like to be at a Vendor Status) but give the Consumers a better understanding of the product and answer any questions they may have if this is something i Have to sign up for / Pay for please direct me to this info. I have searched the site and have not been able to find any info retainning to this "Vendor Status".

Thanks to all who help.

POR-15 is a Moisture Cured Urethane Paint that Kills Rust and keeps it from coming back.

The problem with most paints is that the surface is PORUS from solvents or hardeners evaporating out which in time Moisture, Air and Salt can get thru to the Surface of the metal below Starting the process of corrosion and eventually rusting away. POR-15 is a Slow curing paint that leaves a non porus finish and is untouchable by any PAINT REMOVER or CHEMICAL on the market. I have a question for you. Me and my Dad just bought a '67 Corvair Monza, and it has some rust we need to take care of. Do I just wire brush off any loose crap and paint the POR-15 over the rust? Or do I have to use a rust jelly/remover first? Let me know, as I am interested in buying some later on.

Your first Step in Rust prevention Wolud be to Hit it with a wire brush and Knock off any of the loose stuff.

Then You want to Clean the surface with MARINE CLEAN, MC- is a Industrial strength cleaner and degreaser mixed 1-1 with hot water the hotter the better. Give the Area to be painted a good bath then completely rinse the surface and let dry.

Then apply the METAL READY, MR is a Phosphoric Acid with Zinc in that etches the metal, opens the Pores if it has been blasted, and leaves a ZINC coating.

Then Apply two Coats of the POR-15 Rust Preventive paint And Topcoat if needed.

The POR-15 can be directly applied to The Rusty surface but Myself and others that have used the product will highly recommend you follow all these steps above to have the best results.

Wow, good info. I know with the age of a lot of cars on here, we're probably a growing market. I know I've got just a little cancer brewing in my rear door edges, and I've been wanting to take a look at the POR stuff before I go to a body shop for the new paint I have planned this summer.

BTW, just out of curiosity, what do you drive?
