Hi all,

Just joined from Sterling Heights, MI and I'll be conversing with you guys on a regular basis. I have some issues with my car but all in all still love it. Some of the odd things are identified in other listings. Some of mine may be unique. I'll check further and ask for help and advice.

hehehe, that is how I started out as well.... only a few months ago. I am now on here usually twice a day, my wife and I have been to two meets, and we also bought a 2003 SSEi since then.

This is really the place to be for any help with your car, and great people also

Default Intermediate steering shaft

Saw your earlier post that was locked about your intermediate steering shaft. When I bought my car a few weeks ago, the dealer showed me what had been done under warranty up to the point. The intermediate steering shaft had been replaced TWICE in the first 20,000 miles. Now when I make a sharp right hand turn, the car makes a noise. Seems that the steering gear is bad, so waiting on that now. Thank goodness for warranties!

Thanks for the welcome guys. This GXP is my second Bonneville. I had an 02 SSEi and really liked that car, but had a craving for a Northstar again. Went into an 03 STS which was also a great ride. Once you have the Northstar, it'* hard to drive anything else even though it'* not the most economical engine around. My GXP is Greystone and I've made only a few modification so far. I dropped an *&B filter (much better price from Anything Auto) and I also replaced the lettering on the rear truck using another GXP emblem and a Northstar enblem form the Cadillac parts bin. My wash mit used to catch on those letter all the time. I must have a mid shaft issue as I feel every little imperfection in the road. Maybe I'm just used to the Magnetic-Ride of the STS, but the front suspension doesn't seem to handle bumps or choppy pavement very well. I've been to the dealer already at 2k miles and the dealer told me "It'* a GXP...it'* supposed to ride hard. On a choppy road, is it common for the steering wheel and column to bounce up and down????

Hello, I would like to see your emblems on the back! I was thinking about doing that myself.

For your problem I would probly post that into the Northstar/GXP section so people can help you out there and we keep this section for introductions.

Again, welcome. Greystone seems to be common around here.
