I’ve lived in Dallas all my life. GXP on a road course? sweet! I guess when it rains I’ll get to play around with the stabilitrac a little.

Yeah, turbocoupes are treacherous on slippery stuff, you give it gas and nothing happens…until the turbo decides to kick in.

A little more info on my bird, the engine itself was only mildly modified, but I was running a large turbo (t3/t4 ball bearing), auxillary methanol injection with Snowperformance controller (this allowed 25 – 28 psi boost on pump gas). I used PCMX software and an LM1 wideband o2 setup with datalogging to tune it. A lot of other mods like 3” exhaust, big injectors, etc.

Venom, I’m very interested in the Jet Chip, and I checked out the link, although I searched and could not find any additional information about it. I’ll be posting some additional questions separately.

Welcome to a fellow Texan and GXP owner! I lived in Big D from '92 until '97 and really enjoyed it. I still miss it and wouldn't mind moving back there one day. I am back in my hometown just southwest of Houston. Those are really nice numbers on your TurboCoupe! I had a friend of mine in college at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos (now simply Texas State University) who bought a brand new '87 TurboCoupe with the 5 speed in all black. He loved to play with that thing. It was amazing that with the 5 speed you had 190hp and with the automatic it was detuned to only 150hp. Definitely had to get it in the 5 speed.

The GXP is really impressive. We love it! The handleing is just as you describe - it just continues to grip with very little lean or sway. And the torque steer is much less noticeable than say in the Grand Prix GXP that we also considered. The fuel economy is a little less than I hoped - but that is primarily due to the spirited driving that the car evokes. Oh well, I have not quite put 1,000 miles on it in the 9 weeks I have had it - so the fuel economy isn't that big of a deal for us.

Oh, and I too am trying to get what I can out of it to a point. It looks like I will be using the Jet controller along with their MAF that they also offer specifically for the Bonneville GXP. I will also combine a ported and polished throttle body with that as well.

See ya around the board...
