I don't think you are coming down on me at all. I am a humble person in most respects and I can assure you, most of you have been building power for the Bonneville long before I even considered one.
I have had 2 other cars in my life that have illicited this much giggle factor out of me (giggle factor is the level of giggling like an idiot you do when you mash the throttle). The first was a 1980 Z28 with a 406 putting down about 420hp. But it was a sledgehammer. It went fast in a straight line but handled like *****. The second was my 96 Seville STS that had several bolt on mods. Stupid deer took that away from me on a dark night back in '02. That car was a sleeper in alot of senses. Primarily because Caddies are grandpa'* car(don't tell that to my Grandpa as he drives a Lingenfelter massaged CTS-V).
Everything else has just been transportation. I have always been a Pontiac fan...their designs have been distinct while the rest of GM has been unemotional lumps. A pity that GM is shutting Pontiac down. The G8-GXP makes me want to do naughty things with it'* tailpipe...

Welcome Z! I tinker in the basement here alot, hang in the social Sections, and make sure all play nice. I rely on Nitrous to make my fat azz'ed GXP giddyup. So no 3800 mod experience other than routine maintenence on a LeSabre and 2 Park Avey'* I've had in the past. Sounds like you've been busy with yours, and your in good company with my GearHeads. Hope ya find the place comfy.

Getting antsy...want to get this thing back together again.
Parts are killer expensive compared to the vanilla 3800. I miss the days of working auto parts when everything was dirt cheap at 10% over cost.

Sorry for the long delay in updates...been chaos around here. Busiest time of the year for beer distribution.
Anyway, some updates...
So got the engine back together...and dropped back in...and bolted back up...and WOOOOOOO she is a bullet. Took it easy for the first ~600 miles before some ***** in an Escalade pissed me off on the interstate. Mashed the peddle at about 50 and got a nice screech from the front.
I ended up going with a 3.4inch pulley, headers, 3inch downtube, high flow cat, custom made cat back done up by DC Muffler in Dallas Center, IA with a pair of 2 1/2 in/out flowmasters.
Now I need to do some ECU tweaking along with having a full transmission service done (maybe doing a shift kit).
Been using alot of information I found here to fix the little annoying details for the girl. Seat heater on Drivers side now works, no more steering column intermediate shaft clunk...passenger window may have to wait until spring...
Anyway, thanks for the welcome and the input. I am still lurking around here....just mostly quiet.
