Hey Hey.. Just picked up my Silver 2005 Bonneville SE a couple weeks ago. I traded in my "lightly" modded 1998 Trans Am. I wanted to get something that was comfortable, a bit better on gas, and something I wouldn't be tempted to mod. Turns out this is my new money pit
I just had it tinted (20% back/rear, 30% front), HU installed (Pioneer 5900, seriously don't like it. Going to go back to Alpine I believe), and soon I'll have Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5 components and a couple JL 12W7'* installed. Roughly the same setup that was in the T/A, just a bit newer. I'm also looking into rims, right now I'm looking at Enkei LM1s and Falken Koblenz. All the other rims I've had photoshopped just don't fit the car right.
I'll get pictures up after the rims, and a bath.
That'* it, for now..

Welcome...
If you think it'* a money pit.. be glad you didn't get a supercharged model. I feel like King of the Money Pits at the moment.
Kick off your shoes and enjoy. Take a browse around and learn of your cars UIM/LIM weakpoint. Be prepared...not surprised.

Welcome to BC!
LMAO!
If you are already the type that likes to mod (as I see you are) you're no better off on this site. BC helps lead one to modding. It'* contagious and fun too, BTW. But then you already knew that, didn't you?
Like Boosty says, browse around and be certain to check out the TECHINFO articles too.

Thanks for the welcomes
I've been reading the forum for about a week or so, so I've read most of the issues with the 00+. So far it doesn't look too bad. I'm always prepared for the worse.
I know all about forums being a bad influence. I was perfectly happy with the T/A until I started reading the LS1Tech forums. It all went downhill from there. I was never satisfied with it. Atleast with the Bonneville, I know it'* not fast. It'll never be fast. I'll make it look/sound nice, maybe help it breathe a little better. Hopefully that'* where it stops.
Of course, That'* also where it started with the T/A.

Welcome to BC.com!
As a fellow SE owner (a bit older model than yours, mine'* a 99), I would like to say that SEs can be fast, just takes a bit of time and some money, THAT is if you don't have the granny gears.
If you're wondering if you have the granny gears or not, check your RPO in the trunk where the spare tire is then check TECHINFO for the RPO Decoder.

Welcome. Most of the problems were ironed out by the 2004 year or at least I have been lucky so far. No leaks, no window regulator problems or the dreaded steering wheel clunk.
Where abouts in STL are you? I will be out there for business on March 27th through the 29th.
