Default New 99 White SE Owner

Hello everyone...

Just bought a 99' White SE bonneville with 37k miles on it. Got it from the local carmax here in Norcross, GA.

Can't wait to start adding some mods to my vehicle... just have to get the wife to go along with it too.

I guess that would be an easy sell for the t-stat install since it can be easily explained as saving the engine from developing that nasty manifold leak I'm hearing about.

A question.. does the 99 SE have a plastic manifold as well? Or did they finally put a metal in on the 99'*?

I'm a little worried about it, because i do drive in lovely heavy Atlanta traffic. I'm guess I should drill holes in the t-stat too? Should I even go as far as getting a 160 T-stat because of the heavy traffic I drive in?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Club! I'm afraid to tell you, yes 99'* still had the stupid platic upper intake.
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...pic.php?t=5349 look here for some good info to help prevent that intake failure. A 180 should be sufficient, mayber drill two 1/16" hole.

At least he'* not from Ontario!

Not from Ontario.. .. at least not this one.. yet...

Those dam decals must be working...

I thought all series II N/A including the new ones have plastic cheap intake manifold gaskets.. and only series I pre 91 or something came with the aluminum ones.

EDIT:

P.*.

Welcome aboard.. you'll like it here.. full of information and laughs.. if only school was this much fun..
