good one gunner, am i sensing jealousy? lol

and no the second you burn an MP3 song onto an Audio cd its no longer MP3, its considered an audio cd. an audio CD is measured in minutes, vs MP3 cds are measured in megabites

an audio CD can take up to 70 or 80 minutes of music regardless of the size of the files. Audio CDs average 13 to 20 tracks per CD
an MP3 cd can take 700mb of music regardless of how many minutes they are. MP3 cd averages about 100 to 120 songs per CD

Well I knew it changed it to CDA so the player could read it. Do they make players that can run pure MP3 format? I wasn't aware of any. Would be awesome to hold 100 songs on one disc.

yep, almost every aftermarket HU now plays MP3 CDs and many of the newer stock HU play them too, my escalade plays MP3 cds no problem.

not being able to play MP3 cds was the main reason i wanted to change my HU in the GXP. 14 tracks on a CD was driving me crazy, and the trunk changer was just gay.

now i throw 120 songs on one CD and throw it in my double din, or 4000 songs on my 16 gb sd card

Driving to NEBF in 09, I loaded up a 16GB flash drive, plugged it into my head unit'* USB port, and then I jammed. "Jamming" I mean in the colloquial sense of enjoying music, not in the sense of getting something stuck.
