Mom of a 2000 SSEI
MY son originally purchased this car in 2002. One he signed up for the Air Force, my other 2 teenagers, I stress teenagers, "drove" the car. I have a chain which helps in place of a motor mount. Per my son, he was tired of breaking motor mounts. This does add character to my baby. Now I the sole owner of this black beauty. It has 130,000, only one itsy bitsy dent in the quarter panel, and some rust under cap. It needs a good buffing and wax, but other than that, she is beautiful, even if she is older. I have soooo many questions about what I need done to it. Anyone interested, please respond.

Welcome to the Forum. We have some great members here who can help you with just about any problem or question you might have about fixing your Bonne. It is easier if you just choose the section the problems fits in and post a thread and some members will answer. It also gives a reference for others with a similiar problem to use. If you have a doubt of where it belongs, post it in General Chat and I will be happy to move it to its proper place. John.

Let me start by saying that I am a female, cars are not my forte. So when reading if this sounds like it was written by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about....it'* just me being me. Where to start on my car. This last weekend I had to have the swing arm (?) replaced on the passenger front side, the ty bar on the drivers front, and now I have some part (radius arm??)to get fixed on the passengers rear side. Luckily I have a mechanic I use, but he lives in Wisconsin, I am in Illinois. Also, how many miles can I expect to get out of my engine, trans? My children tell me it will last a long time. Any Bonne owners in Illinois, the Elgin area?? Also looking for someone who can repair the small rust area under my gas cap. I know I could go to a shop, but I would prefer to use someone who loves the Bonne, and will take extra care of my baby, and actually care about the job he does.

Amen. I wish I knew someone in my area that could work on my car and would take as much care of it as I would, but I'm stuck with McEleney'* which is overpriced and they dont do a very good job. I'm a novice with cars as well so the best advice I can give you is to ask one of the more experienced member on this site. I've gotten basically all the information I needed about my car from reading these forums and they've been a great help. Hope you enjoy your Bonnie!

Seems that so far you've been in good hands. Don't worry about not knowing the part names etc. Pictures and descriptions go a long way, afterall none of us were born knowing a thing. A close friend of mine went from knowing where to put gas to doing all her own work with a little advice from time to time.
As for someone in Ill.. I'm not sure about that.
Iowa huh? How close are you to Muscatane or tine or somewhere that sounds like that?
