Oh I know, and it is quicker, after that time to the track I had done some regular maintainance including a new fuel filter and it ran so much stronger up top. Plus I sucked at launching this 6 speed, so if I got a decent 60' I should easily be running 13.1-13.3'* now. But I would definately need the "driver" Mod for that lol...

When I was test driving cars when I got mine, I found a great difference between vehicles, likely depending on how they were cared for. Wind noise could be caused by a poorly installed windshield if it ever had to be replaced, and some reported some time ago about their doors not sealing properly at the top.

Road noise could be caused by what tires are on the car. I found the Goodyear RSAs to be much noiser than what I have on now. One car even had a not of road noise coming in from the trunk. Not sure what caused that problem.

Engine noise could be a bad supercharger coupler, or a noisy pulley. If the airbox was gutted, that would add more noise, also.

Keep looking. You'll find a good one.

I agree with Archon, keep looking. I bought my 03 SSEi several months ago and the cars I looked at varied greatly.
I drove 4.5 hours (from Carlisle Pa to almost Va beach) to see a 2000 SSEi w 8,000 miles. I thought it would be a gem but was a piece of sh*t. Looked bad and didn't start. What a waste of time.
Then drove 3hrs to Binghamton NY to see a 02 SSEi w medium miles. Vibrated hard at highway speeds. They also told me the list of maintenance things replaced. I walked.
Both of those were internet ads gone bad.
I found a one owner 20k 03 SSEi mile gem at a little local Pontiac dealer. What a difference. I payed a little more than the budget but worth it.
Run a Carfax. The dealers will keep the good cars. I also found that some of the cars going through auctions may have issues.
I got rid of a 1992 Vette and 96 Monte Carlo for this SSEi. No regrets.

but I'm a bit confused, you say you want to sell the car for a bonneville, I'd think a 2000+ ssei will cost just as much as what the t/a is worth...hard to say.

i agree...shoot for the 03 SSEi...i drove almost 250 miles one way to get mine...LOL...its worth it....the 03 is the Best of the 00+ models as said here by myself and the other members here

If you want a for door, and you want a smaller car than the Bonnie, Regals are worth checking out. The GS gets the */C engine, as well.

Well I plan on getting between 14k-15k at least for my T/A when selling it. In my area during the spring these cars sell above book value (sold a 94 Z28 with 72k miles on it for $8500, and book value was around $6k I beleive) My T/A is also in Excellent shape, with low miles etc.. and I have been looking and I can get a 2000 or 2001 Bonneville for around $8-9k with 75-85k miles on it.

Thanks for all the replies guys. However, I have now decided to probably go with a 4 door Grand Prix GT or GTP. I test drove several and Like the GP'* better being they fit my age more (I am 21). Plus they are easier to find in what I am looking for, and are a little less expensive. Plus the problems I have been reading about in the 2000 year bonn'* were kind of turning away from one.
