Just now joined but I am not new to ownership of a Bonneville.
I discovered this site in June of 2007 according to the printout I made at the time. My dark cherry 1999 SSE1 has about 97,000 miles. Actually, I have no idea how to work on it! What motivated me to join today is to ask for an opinion on something that is going on with it. The security light is showing all the time and the antenna motor works but the antenna does not go down. The heads-up feature has not worked for 2 years or more. Otherwise, the SSE1 purrs along and is a beautiful car which I plan to keep. The next projects are brakes and tires. Thanks for messages about any of these issues. From Oregon............justnw

Start with checking the fuses. You have 3 fuse boxes. One under the drives foot area, one under the glove box on the passenger side, and another on the fire wall under the hood.
Welcome to the forum!
If your sure the antenna motor is working (making noise), but just not going down, you should be able to skip checking fuses and move right into replacing it. Those antennas are notorious for getting bent and not moving correctly. You should be able to find a universal one to replace it with.
