Default Introductions....

Hey guys. My name is J.R. I recently purchased an Oldsmobile Aurora and a friend of mine said this was a good site to get info and just flat talk to other owners and lovers of certain vehicles. So I joined and am now just sayin hi and letting everyone know a little bout my ride. Well....it is a '97 Olds Aurora. 263000mi(highway miles), runs good aside from some random sensors throwing codes and needing replaced. Am in the process of fixing and upgrading. Have already put on new plugs and wires and have ordered an air intake to boost my hp a little, as i have owned it for 3 days. If anyone knows particulars about the 4.0L V8 and how to maintain and upgrade, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh, almost forgot. This will break alot of hearts. I only paid $500 for the car. Almost as if i stole it.

Whats up J.R.

Welcome to the club

My brother loves Auroras. I think they are really comfortable to drive. And that baby-Northstar motor is not to bad either.

Good find to.

Todd.

Welcome to the Bonneville forum. What codes are you getting? We have a well stocked tech info area. Even though it'* mainly set up for the 3800, the tests for sensors should still apply to your car.

My roommate had a 97 aurora. I was living in winnipeg canada at the time and in winter the heated seats wee sure a nice feature. It was pretty funny though I was the passenger and my seat worked and as the driver his didn.t. Just a glitch or something in the wiring or chips.

Welcome to the Forum. There is a wealth of info in here and if you can't find anything, please ask. Please add your trim and year to your signature file. Directions on how to accomplish this is in a "sticky" in this thread.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yeah, my boss told me bout this site. His ID is nolker. I put the code reader on my car and cae up with an EGR=Insufficient flow=&=Range/Performance, Bank 1,Sensor 2 for the 02 Sensor...and misfire in cylinder 1, but i think the missfire is from the 02 Sensor. But i found a Cold Air Intake for my baby on ebay for like $27. So i got that and installed and can really tell a diff. Just need to get some issues worked out and some new paint as mine is peeling. After all that i should be ready to go. Will get some pics for a before and after effect for everyone to look and laugh at...lol...But am still learning to navigate the site so hopefully will have them up soon.
