Bad luck on the last car..

I always check the common things on the 3800'*, leaking coolant/oil, pull the oil cap off and check for any buildup or yellowish/milky substance, wobble at highway speed, window regulators (do the windows make noise when going up/down, rust around fuel door.

Default Seems like a reputable dealer.

Sound to me like you are dealing with a straight up guy who stands by his deals.

I hope you come up with a satisfactory solution to the engine issue, you appear to have found the car you want and are dealing with an honest man.

Maybe swapping the engine will be the answer, maybe the engine can be fixed.

Let us know how you get on, nice to hear of someone not getting screwed by a dealer.

Roger.

I would wait and see how much more the new engine would add to the price of the car. Maybe the dealer would eat the cost or meet you half way on the markup price with the new motor. Just my 2 cents.

I always do. This time I didn't. I was too focused on getting a good deal, I didn't check the oil cap or puke tank. Either could have told me what'* up with it. I took my eye off the ball and it hit me in the face.
