Question P0420 OBD2 code

Thanks for the welcome all! Here we go...what typically is the problem when this code appears on my cellphone via bluetooth OBD2 code reader. What does anyone suggest I do to start resolving this issue. Unfortunately I live in California where clean air issues are expensive to resolve typically.

You can read codes with bluetooth and a cell phone? That is so neat. To get suggestions for how to solve this problem, you might want to start a new thread so that you can get more traffic. Also, what codes is it reading and what are the symptoms?
