Howdy
Been lurking here for a while. Great site. Found it while searching for some information on the upper intake manifold issues that plague the 3800. You guys do good work here. Thanks to all for the effort. Keep up the good work.

Hey welcome to the club! Make sure you put your cars yr trim level and current modifications in the signiture area of your profile so we can better assist you with any troubles you may have. Also try using the search option when looking for info on the UIM (Upper Intake Manifold) and that will bring up anytime one was mentioned.....
Thanks all for the welcome. I own a '98 SE that I bought new. It isn't actually red, the RedGhost handle is another story. My upper intake failed at 36,000 miles and is going again at 71,000. No warranty this time so I'll do this one myself, soon. Still the best car I have ever owned.

Take all that info you just told us and put it in your sigiture in your prefile area. Check out the vendors forum, I think there'* some new updated UIM'* in there.

From where? Sorry I'm super charged so I don't have these failures like you do. But I like to know as much as I can about anything.
