Default Hey There

So, I have been visiting these forums for awhile now and because this site has such a great wealth of information on it already, I have not posted any questions because I can usually find the answers by just searching. Today, however the question I struggle with is whether or not to sell my very low mile 97' anniversary edition SE, and buy a much higher mileage SSei because I am tired of drooling all over the pics of all the rides on this forum. My SE only has 42,xxx miles and I got it when it only had 17,xxx Its in excellent shape and im already invested 5grand in repairs for new radiator, starters(2), complete fuel tank/system replacement, ect. So I guess my question is.... Should I sell? and is the supercharger gonna cost me that much more in the long run?

Welcome to the site!

I would say keep the car you have now, you have a solid car and you know a lot about how it was taken care of, if there is something that you see that you like, ask how to do it, we will be more than willing to walk you though whatever you want to do to make your car exactly what you want.

I say get both. You can tear apart and mod the SSEi and make it ridiculous, and use the SE as your Daily Driver. Both are great cars.

welcome to the forum! glad we could provide you with all the info you needed thus far.

now selling a low mile 97 for a high mileage SSEi is going to be a tough decision. however look at it this way. with the bonnie you have now you know what has been done to it and worked out most of it'* kinks. the other one may have more options and be supercharged but you have no clue how well it was taken care of and what all may need to be done to her.

one option you have is doing a top swap which there is one available in the for sale section here. and keep the low mileage that you have and get the blower. personally i would do the top swap on the lower mileage car just my honest opinion.

as far as the supercharger goes with it you need to run premium fuel with it and it also opens you up to far more mods that you can do to your ride for more performance and power. you will also increase your HP right of the bat from 205HP to 240HP by doing the top swap for some that is enough but once the mod bug bites you it'* hard to quit.

but the decision is all yours we can only really give you guidance on the pros and cons. make sure you make a very calculated decision cause once you do it you usually can't go backwards. hope this helps you

Welcome to the forum. There are engine mods available to boost the HP for the Series 2 SE.

Welcome to the forum. That'* a tough decision you are trying to make. The SE'* have plenty of power. You said you're tired of drooling over the nice rides, you can make your SE look just as nice if not bettter than some of the SSEi'* on the forum.
If you want to get an SSEi just for the looks of it, I wouldn't do it. If you truly want a performance upgrade, the options are top swap for a sleeper or get the SSEi.

Your ride : Well maintained, dependable and low miles
The SSei : Alot of unknowns, high miles

Welcome to the site. If your looking for flat out power, then get the SSEi. For a good daily driver, stick with the SE. In the end the choice will be yours.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm going to throw one more option into the mix: Find a lower mileage L67 motor and trans to swap into your car. That way you can keep the rolling chassis that you know has been taken care of and have your horsepower too.

Believe me I have tried, my old lady is not about to let me sell her new elantra we got 2 years back, and a third car is outta the question. The top swap kit is very very tempting,
(i even thought about it all day at work today) I have a friend that would do the install for a decent price, but she still cant wrap her head around why I need a supercharger....

So it looks like I am back to plan B, find a set of crosslaces and paint them, then maybe some some exhaust mods. Already done a custom CAI so not really sure what else there is as far as performance go.

Thanx for all the great suggestions, if I were only single....
