Default Hello from Calgary, Alberta

Hi there to all,

My name is Les and I've joined this forum on the advice of a friend who has been helping me over the (many) years move up the learning curve as I tackle the issues with my 80'* vintage vehicles, mostly GM. I've always been fascinated by the workings of motor vehicles since I was 15 and am still learning over 45 years later so yes, I'm 'vintage' myself you could say . I started off when very young tearing apart a Honda 50cc bike, moved on to VW beetles of which I owned several, a couple of Fords (bad experience) a Jeep Cherokee (also bad experience) and finally ended up with my current collection of GM toys (and a few bikes on the side) and my pickup. Being vintage myself, I'm not as computer savvy as most of you people likely are but I'm hoping I can figure out eventually how things work on this forum - any help will be much appreciated.

I do have a question right off though - I'm trying to solve an OBD1 issue with my 87 Buick which has me stumped and was wondering which forum I should post to for this. I see you have one for OBD2 - is there also one somewhere for the older OBD1 stuff? This OBD1 issue is very peculiar and hopefully someone will find it interesting enough to give me some feedback that I haven't thought of yet.

Thanks in advance for any help............Les

Welcome Les! If you need help figuring out the forum just ask. Sometimes adding pictures in to your post or other tasks that are easy for us "techy types" aren't as straight forward for everyone else. We are okay with that. You help us fix our cars and we will show you how to work a PC!
