Default Hello All

New member here. Currently own a 2004 Impala SS 3.8 SC. No crazy mods yet, just a drop in K&N and audio system. Looking to modify further, but not quite yet as I've got some problem codes plaguing me. As this is the introduction forum, I'm going to just say hi here, and post up my problems in another thread.

lol, thanks for the welcome and the help in my other thread.

I'm not planning anything crazy as far as mods. My stock exhaust is going, so rather than replace with OEM, I'm going to upgrade to a 3" downpipe, PLOG, probably 3" catback, with 40 series flowmasters. Since I will be upgrading the exhaust, I'm going to upgrade the intake as well to match the exhaust, with either a K&N or Thrasher CAI. Although, while at Autozone today, I was looking at their Spectre "DIY" CAI kits. This would me much cheaper than either the K&N or the Thrasher, but I'd have to fabricate a heat shield/airbox out of something. The father-in-law (to be) does have a sheet metal brake, so this may be easier than I'm thinking.

Aside from that, a 180 degree Tstat to help it run cooler, and a PCM tune to take advantage of the TSTAT and to tune out the rear O2 since I live in an emissions inspection state.

I know all of that sets me up for a smaller SC pulley, but I really don't think I'll go that route at this point. It'* my daily driver, and I need it to be more reliable than powerful.

I'll have to take some new ones soon. I think I'm going to be clay-barring the car sometime soon, and fixing some exterior flaws, and then I need to take new pictures.

Ok, pics as promised. I dug some up out of my photobucket that I had hiding in there.

My first Impala, a 2001 base model with the nicer rims. Man do I miss the window tint though. I had 5% limo on all windows and a strip across the top of the windshield.

Here'* my 04 SS the day I brought her home off the showroom floor.

And my 04 pretty much as it sits today, with the grille replaced with the Indy edition grille. I still have some plans for the outside, such as a red bowtie outline for the grille emblem, and painting the emblem black instead of silver. I also need to get new side scripts, as the car wash mitt has taken a couple of pieces of the lettering off.
