Default Greetings from the Windy City

Hello my name is Allen im from Chicago Illinois. Iam planing to buy my dads friends Black 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi hopefully by the springtime, I've been also interested in street racing. I plan to buy it do detail work on the body and modify it with at least 300+HP and eventually put NOS or turbocharger kit in it and give it a run for its money in on street. I've also been fascinated with Bonnevilles and many GM big body cars that are no longer in production, many of my friends say that I am crazy for purchasing Bonneville saying that "Its a grannys car" or saying that "Its a big slow flightless bird". Which in my mind I believe I can prove them wrong. I joined this site to help me get the 411 on maintence detailing and overall to help reaching my goal in boosting up the performace of my future Bonneville.

Welcome to the club!

I'm sure that most of us here have popped off at a light at least once, but we have a policy about talking about it here on the board. Outside of that, pretty much nothing is sacred.

Street racing occasionally is one thing, given the right SAFE circumstances. Building a car specifically for that purpose is a punk ricer thing, and won't get you much respect here.

How about coming out to the dragstrip with a few of us instead?
