Welcome to the forums Gary.:)
I noticed in your other thread you have the Olds Alero, a Chevy pickup an my favorite an Anniversary 1989 Trans Am ..sweet..:thumbup2
Please feel free to post some photos in the Your Ride Section, just follow the link in my signature line.
As I have always had GM's throughout my life, I suppose I should also be considered a GM for Life guy too! :D

welcome to the forum

love the TTA's, the best thirdgen. would love to have one but i want to be able to mod and drive the thing when ever i can. you cant do that with a collectable like that i would feel bad.

It's slightly modified, has larger injectors and a chip. It's been in the body shop for almost a year getting dents and dings repaired in prep for a respray. I've restored several muscle cars in the past and this one is among the quickest and a blast to drive. (love the a/c in the summer).

if i had one it would be like the grands doing 10-11seconds at the track. hard to find reliable info but i think they are in the 14 range stock which compared to other 80s cars is way fast and probably fun to drive but not my style. im the type that isnt happy unless it has at least three times the power and a bunch less weight.

I considered pulling the engine and doing a performance rebuild and a bigger turbo, but I didn't want to loose reliability. I still may change the cam to a little more aggressive roller and add methanol injection later.

i would be worried about breaking something expensive. my car has had a few different engines, and power levels, seems like every time you crank it up you find something else that cant take it.

I agree! I think the weak link is the 200R4 tranny. Most of my hot rod drag race days are few and far between, so if I do modify the car it won't be abused too much.

theres no sense having a car fast car, if you arent going to use it. i only really open it up at the track though
