Default This is going to be way fun......

My Bonneville has been the best car I have ever owned. As an IT consultant, I have to travel a lot to clients and she has virtually never let me down. Dependable, great mpg, good size, and a nice pop when you are in the mood. But she has been getting along in miles and I had to think about it. If I kept her, I knew I would have to take an active role in the mechanicals. Then it occured to me to not only help her to 200,000 mi, but cool her up a bit for some kicks, too. That would be fun.

My problem was knowledge. It has been 35 years since I had the business end of a socket wrench in my hand with the look of intention at a car. And I thought nobody else was interested in Bonnevilles, nobody knew what great cars they are.

Then I met two guys from this site. They were filled with enthusiasm and knowledge. They answered a ton of questions from this old fert and told me to get my butt over to here. There is so much depth of knowledge here. And it is great to find all of the Bonneville enthusiasts.

Anyway.... the dice have been rolled and they came up, Bonne stays. I have already started to give her a new look. The same as before and a little hotter. She'* going to breathe better, fire sharper and louder.

And we're going to wake up my boring ToyotaLexusNissanAcuraHonda neighborhood.

This is going to be major fun!

Thanks Hans. I have one company that is running their sales force automation system on a bank of Dell servers. My company, of course, likes me to bill as many hours as possible. But I like to solve problems as quickly and quietly as I can. That would be most helpful.... Much appreciated.

Charlie, don't listen to Hans. HP is where it'* at. Trust me.

Glad to have you aboard. Was it our pittsburgh crew a couple weeks ago that got you?

I just did the same thing tonight, with an owner in mild distress in a Wendy'* parking lot. They were surprised such a place existed. Watch for a white 93 SLE to join soon.

I met 95naSTA and corvettecrazy at the Franklin Mall here in Philly.

I had dropped my wife off to abuse her credit cards. cc was sitting in his car over in an open area of the parking lot. I have been taking my own survey of late 90s Bonne owners so I rolled over to him. Told him I liked his car and asked him if he knew much about the 3800 II etc. Whew, did he know! Then 95naSTA showed up. They had so much knowledge, it was like trying to drink from a fire hose . 95 even got his scanner out and checked my car. Great guys!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad you called it "enthusiasm". My wife just calls it "one more thing for the commitment hearing."

Hey cc,

Yep, found the place. There'* a lot to take in.

The photos are coming. I wish I had shot my car before I blacked the trim and did the lights. Woulda been a better "before". Got the Beldens and plugs today. Been reading about the "rice pipe"... may skip gutting the box. We'll see. I have to go after that lower gasket first before it screws the pooch. Freakin timebomb. That'* gonna be a real challenge for me. I'm going to have to read up and get some supervision.

Thanks for showing the way.

Charlie
