I'll look tomorrow when it'* lighter out. You must be right, though. All the other SE'* i see have this grille that the fins go into the triangle (pontiac) emblem...or something like that, I don't know how to explain it.

Pat, your all-knowing expertness has failed you again.
And the link if the remote hosting doesn't allow linking:
http://tinypic.com/rm4i8i.jpg
It'* an SLE, and there is an H4U RPO code.

just hvac *****.
you ARE in fact talking of the black plastic cover underneath the carpet thing that lifts up under the trunklid, then you unscrew the ****, and that cover comes off.. right

Just lift up the carpet. You'll see the label on the TOP of that cover. In fact, take a pic of it if you can. You don't need auto climate control to get the SLE package.

in 1996 things changed a bit with the packages...
The SE bonneville with the 1SC package now came with ECC, and if you had the 1SD Option group regaurdless of the RPO listing having or not having H4U, it was indeed an SLE Bonneville

Pat, look at the damn options on the car and the side cladding, you buffoon.
These stupid 'pick apart the sle' topics are ridiculous when such an OBVIOUS GLARING EXAMPLE is presented here. Just state the obvious rather than picking the thing apart piece by piece to show your self-proclaimed expertness.
This is NOT the type of example to show the new members of this Forum. It'* disrespectful to the topic author, and it'* happened too many times to count. I recognized the car for what it was and simply suggested he check the RPO label. Let'* not turn this into a discourse of what Pat thinks he knows.
Back on topic. Again, noob.....welcome to the forum!

I agree that it'* an SLE, 1993, leather, crosslaces, that equals SLE. YOU told me that in my very first thread, Pat.

In cooldown mode now.
The leather and side cladding are a giveaway. The one year not to have an SLE package was 1992, and that year had a unique side cladding very similar to the SLE cladding that was called the 'sport appearance option'. Any SLE is easily identified from 93-95 by the cladding you see in this pretty blue car in this topic, or my SLEeeper, or the other dozens of SLE'*. The Leather clinches the deal.
Some people don't realize that the rarity of the ELC option is determined by the suspension code. FE2 by default gets ELC rear struts. This is why my SLEeper has ELC. I have FE2 on that car, which is quite uncommon. CCR is even more rare.
One of the more common items to have or have not is the auto climate control.
To simplify this for all future generations, a base-equipped SLE package may only have the Leather and different side cladding.
A fully equipped SLE will have every option the SSEi got except:
HUD
Electrochromic rear view mirror
Blue tinted heated mirrors
Boost gauge
SSEi cladding (except later SLE'*)
