Lizzie, Welcome to the GMForum. I am the Senior Admins here and I appreciate your comments. Our Forum began as the BonnevilleForum.com. With an almost 10 year history. We decided to embrace all 3800 powered GM vehicles, and from there said WTH, why not offer our blend of light hearted friendliness And hard core Tech advice to all of the sport GM models.

I am very familiar with the Forum you come from and we have seen quite a few come over to date. WELCOME!!! We have first hand knowledge of the conditions you speak of because our own Forum went through that "phase" and the Staff became intolerable. Me, myself was a regular outspoken member then and has numerous BS warnings and threats of being Banned by them. That Forum was actually abandoned on mass by Staff and went offline. I stood up to help bring it back and Friendliness and Accountability are my two biggest pet peeves, alongside secure and stable database.

We are always looking for well spoken friendly people to join in our forum and on our Team. I also would like to see our Car Forum geared a little more towards attracting women to feel comfortable in this type of setting. I would appreciate any insights in this matter you have, and I read my PM'* promptly and react to good well thought suggestions. Your artwork is indeed impressive. Looks like perhaps you would be an excellent candidate for a Staff position in the future. Enjoy your "walk in the Park!"

While I don't mind people sharing the experiences with other Forums, Good and Bad. Let'* keep the negatives to Personal experiences and not have them build into looking for venting. Explaining the why'* is cool. I just don't want to encourage venting.

well, in my personal opinion... I don't see why car-related stuff is geared towards specifically men... I have always loved cars... growing up I was the one out helping my dad on the cars and learning as much as I can. I even helped him replace a transmission in an Aerostar when I was ~10 or 11...

Welcome all... U know what they say "Being underestimated, is the biggest advantage!". We understand here at gmforum that women can be just as knowledge as men. And can be as big of car enthusiasts as men. Hope u find this place as friendly and knowledgeable as I have.

I have every intention of teaching my daughter about fixing and working on cars. I have taught my wife how to change tires, oil, trans fluid and will continue to for anything else she wants to learn.

@BlackPearl: before my dad handed me the keys to my car, he showed me how to check/change the oil, trans fluid... but i never did have any interest in changing tires... i can barely lift one let alone change one.. I always said that my luck, some tall, dark, and sexy guy would roll up and offer to change this poor ladies tires... haha!
but then I got married... though i'm sure it would still happen!

Changing tires is easy and no lifting needed. Roll it in place, sit down, put your feet on both sides of the tire, and then lift it up with your feet and push in place. Real easy.

And scratch the sides of her high heels?...... sorry I couldn't help myself. hehehe
I'll go back to the basement now.

haha... i am def. a heel person... but don't have any anymore due to 2 dogs...
