Welcome to the forum! I'm barely in your neck of the woods (New Milford/Danbury), but I'm worthless. Just go see Bill.

Sorry I haven't been in here for a while. Life gets busy sometimes.
Thanks to all for the welcome.

I am not sure if this is the best, or correct, place to post this issue....someone might be able to move this post if needed. My electrical issue is with my 1991 Pont Grand Prix, auto,3.1. When I bought the car, the alternator was shot....as in the bearings where shot. never tested it'* output, just replaced. The signal light did not work, but a new relay fixed it. At that time, the main issue was an unknown drain on the battery (I disconnected a non-working power antenna, as it would attempt to retract with ignition off. Presently a non-issue.). Also , the "check gauges" light was ON. The low fuel indicator light was ON, yet the gauge shows over 1/4 tank.
I hoped the old alternator might be the culprit, but not so. These issues are still present. I tried to locate the battery drain by hooking up my charger and volt-meter, then pulling fuses, one at a time. Nothing seemed to change in the volt reading.....it hovered around 11 volts, yet with battery disconnected it jumped up to about 13.5....normal under the circumstances,I believe.
Sometime during this effort, the speedometer pegged to maximum. No idea what caused that. Needless to say, I am stumped. In addition, I am really terrible at auto electric trouble shooting on modern cars. Any advice is appreciated. Besides these issues, the car runs and drives fine. All lights work.
Again, thanks for the welcomes.
