Hello,
Just bought a 2003 SSEi and am working out some of it bugs. I have owned several Pontiacs over the years, (2)1965 GP, 1969 GP, 1970 GTO Judge, 1971 Catalina, 1975 Catalina, 1973 Bonneville, (2) 1979 Trans Ams, 1975 Grand Am, 1977 Can Am, 1981 Trans Am, 1995 Grand Am, (2) 1997 GP, 2000 GP and now this 2003 Bonneville SSEi.
I guess I'd have to say I just like Pontiacs.

Nasty, Welcome to Bonneville Club. That is quite an impressive list of Pontiacs you've owned. You can post any problems you have with your 03 SSEi in the 2000-2005 forum.

Thank all of your kind responses. I will try to answer all of your questions in my reply. I live in Morton, IL. just outside of Peoria Home of Caterpillar Inc. I also work at Cat in their Global Purchasing Dept. so I travel a lot. One other question was why did I have (2) of the same cars in the same year. The (2) 1965 GP were two I was going to make into one good one but I sold both before I completed the project. The two Trans Ams I bought new, the first in Oct.of 78 and it was the first in the area. Then they came out with the 10th Ann. so I traded in the first 79 for a 4 speed 10th ann. and kept it for 13 years and sold it with just 12,000 miles. The Can Am I wish I had back, it is a faster car than most think. The 70 Judge was built for speed. It had the Judge package and an AM radio no other options, not even power steering.
I also belong to the GP owners web site and it is very good and has helped me fix HUD on one of my 97 GP and my current 2000. I also used it last week to trace where I was getting water in the passenger floorboards. The GP web site is great for anyone having a GP.
I just fixed the console light on my 2003 SSEi and am looking for a posing of the HUD being dim during daylight hours. I have it on the brightest setting but it is still very dim.
Thanks to all,
Nasty Habit

I am thinking right of the Can Am being the extremely rare 1 year only coupe with the big square front end, right? I want it just cause it was a 1 year only car and it'* extremely badass looking.

You are correct. The production numbers vary on which book you read and who you talk to. Production was limited to aprox. 1000 cars in 1977. It was a Lemans body with a Trans Am engine and a Grand Prix interior. If you are looking for one don't get the California version as they has Olds. 403 engines in them because of emissions.
They all had automatics also. I had found a 4 speed in a junk yard from a Grand Am and bought it to put into the Can Am but someone came along and offered me enough money so I sold both. Now I wish I wouldn't have sold the car. Another odd item that came in my Can Am was a fuel enconomy guage in the cluster instead a clock or tach. I did replace that with the tach.
