Hey all!

Just picked up a brand new 2005 Bonneville GXP tonight!

That'* new - not used.

I had my wife'* 2005 Grand Prix GXP in for service at one of the local dealerships and stumbled upon a gorgeous black 2005 Bonneville GXP that was still new on the lot. Apparently several people had tried to buy it but their deals didn't work out for various reasons.

So anyway, I worked with one of the sales people and got everything rolling without my wife'* knowledge. I met up with my wife at her doctor appointment (she'* pregnant) and let her know that I was looking at trading her Grand Prix GXP for the Bonneville version.

She was less than happy with me. That GP GXP is her baby. Fully loaded with DVD Nav and everything.

I asked her if it would hurt to just go look at the Bonneville. She reluctantly agreed.

When we got to the dealership I introduced her to the sales rep, Rose, and they hit it off. They took the Bonnie out for a spin. When they returned I noticed my wife wearing a big smile. She was obviously pleased with the car.

Her only two complaints were that the Bonneville did not have the DVD Navigation system or the factory remote start like her Grand Prix does. But she did note that the Bonnie did have memory seats which was an option she always wished the GP had available.

A third complaint was the loss of 28hp and 23lbft tq going from the Grand Prix to the Bonneville. Although we both agreed that the Bonneville has a nicer ride. I am guessing this is due to the longer wheel-base and extra weight.

All in all we were both very happy with the car. More importantly, she was happy enough with the Bonneville to give up her beloved Grand Prix. So we got the paperwork done and took her home earlier this evening.

Anyway, glad I found this place. I am looking forward to learning more about the car from the info you guys/gals are sharing.

I can't wait to get out do a good detail and polish on the car. That black paint is gonna pop!

I'll shoot some pics this weekend so ya'll can check it out.

Agreed.

Will get some pics tomorrow (working the night shift tonight) and post them up.

On a side note - got to drive the car for a while today and just absolutely loved it. The wife and I both have zero regrets about getting this car.

You could always pickup an aftermarket GPS unit like one from Garmin

And there are aftermarket remote starters too. It'* just a a matter of getting the right unit for this car. Welcome aboard.

would you mind sharing what you paid for the car?

i am in talks with two dealers about "new" bonnies as well, and am curious to see if their asking prices are fair.

and dont forget those pics!!!
