Hi, from Muncie IN. My name is Chris and I'm on my third Bonneville. This one is a 2002 SLE with 180,000 miles and still running well. I used to drive over 100 miles to work every day but have since taken my pension and am running a business out of my home with my wife. I think it'* because of the road miles that my car still runs well. I'm receiving the "service engine soon" display and have been told it might be my catalytic converter. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks, Chris

Welcome. I dont know specifically if there is a way to check if the Cat is gone have you run a code reader to find out what code your tripping? I do know my bonnie has already fried a Cat and if that is the case i would try to get it replaced seeing as mine melted the cat completely and caused back pressure that pretty much disabled my car. Just a thought!
