Default Sunroof Autoclose

I recently bought a 2012 Yukon Denali XL with a factory sunroof. I can't believe that the sunroof doesn't automatically close when the ignition is turned off. I've owned several other Suburbans with aftermarket sunroofs that have this feature. It just seems like a no-brainer to me.

Is there a way to reprogram the sunroof to automatically close? I'm just stunned that GM would engineer a sunroof without this feature.

Thanks,

maybe they dont want the liability of someone having there hand in there or something. you can get aftermarket alarms that do the windows and everything too but not going to see gm do that.

If that were the case, they wouldn't have power windows nor a power lift gate.

It just doesn't make sense.

the windows dont go up unless you hold the button either and the lift gate makes a bunch of racket and goes super slow

Do your power windows automatically close when the ignition is turned off? Of course not. Many people (myself included) tip the sunroof up in the summer to vent the car when parked. I think there is another perspective to your "no brainer".

it would be nice to set those features but they dont let you. i would like to be able to stop the a/c and fan from pointlessly blasting you when you remote start the car.
