Window Air Leak - Transmission Shifts Hard

Window Air Leak - Transmission Shifts Hard
I took my GMC into the dealership to get a broken hinge repaired and realign the door due to air leaking around it. It appears all they did was put a bead of silicone across the top of the hinge and the window still leaks as bad or not worse than ever. Also, my transmission was shifting hard between second and third and they said they installed a computer update to fix it. My transmission still shifts hard as ever. My truck is an 06 Sierra but only had 20+ thousand miles on it when I carried it in. I would think GMC would stand behind their trucks better than that. Very disappointed.

I would take it back to them and ask the service manger why when u requested to have the hinge repaired was this not done?
I would have thought that they normally would have changed the trans fluid and filter and then updated the transmission shift programming. Something not right at that dealer.
You can also call GM customer service to complain about the poor service you received about that dealer.

i think you have a bad dealer, doesnt sound like they know what they are doing. who puts silicone on a door seal? trans is likely an easy fix too as art mentioned

X2 as above .
And I forgot to mention that a transmission diagnostic code scan should also have been completed before any software update was installed.
I would be asking that dealer, where are results of the scan that should have been performed before an update!

The dealer was Jerry Damson in Huntsville Alabama. I did talk to the service manager and he was the worst of them all. They are very rude and uncaring about the customers problems. I was considering buying a new Acadia but I hate to drive a long distance to another dealership, especially for maintenance and repairs. I have always had GM products for years but this has been a real turn off for me.
