Hey so I have a dropped 03 ext cab Chevy Silverado and it’* sitting on a 4/10 drop so it scrapes the bottom of the gas tank enough for having to be patched a few times. I took it to an auto shop recently so they could replace the tank but the truck sat in the shop for a week and they were not able to find a tank that fit it. A metal oem tank for the 5.3 engine was ordered for it but it did not fit the fuel pump. They said the metal oem tank had only one vent whereas the tank I have has two, so they believe it’* a custom job. I bought the truck like this so I don’t know either. They were able to send me a picture of the tank so I can see if I could find it myself and I’m not finding anything so I was looking for help on figuring out what gas tank it is to buy a replacement. Thank you.
I might be onto something. Can you post some pictures of the whole tank from different angles? Hard to match anything up without being able to see the whole tank, but I have some ideas.

Thank you and I understand I didn’t take the pictures myself they’re from the auto shop I went to but the tank is back in the truck and I don’t have the proper tools to take it back out myself I’m sorry about that. I was hoping I could use the part number but I’m not seeing anything pop up for it. I’d appreciate any help you can provide thanks.
Have you thought about doing something different, like maybe a tank in the bed, or a tank behind the rear axle where the spare tire is?
There are folks that make custom tanks as well, and very often those folks know that sender and fuel pump to use to give a good fuel gauge reading with a different height of tank.

Yeah it does sit really low I’m thinking about relocating it when I get a new tank or getting a fuel cell in the bed or spare area. Based on the new pics can you confirm it’* an 06 tank? Thank you.
