Default On-Star Factory Digital Upgrade

I just bought an 04 Yukon XL on Monday, and I LOVE it!!

I had only one issue so far. I went to activate the pre-owned OnStar trial and found out that this has the analog hardware which they're not activating right now.

I contacted the dealership and they looked into it and let me know today that they have the digital hardware upgrade on order and will be installing it for me as soon as it comes in, at their expense.

Has anyone had this done? Does the "digital upgrade" automatically add the Bluetooth functionality that new OnStar modules have?

I'm not entirely sure I even want it, but I'd at least like to see if it'* worthwhile....

All it does is change the analog hardware to digital hardware. You won't be gettin the bluetooth with it. Sorry.

Oh well... I guess that gives me the excuse I need to upgrade the head unit. I haven't done one of those in better than 15 years.....
