Default Silverado stopped moving

I have a 96 silverodo 1500 one day i started it and pulled out of my drive way and it stopped moving I step on the gas and the RPMs just went up would not move anymore then I turnd the truck off tryed to start it again but would not start i have had starter issues and I replace the starter but now all it does is start but won't crank some one looked at it and pulled the dust cover down and spin the flywheel by hand and told me my crankshaft is broke is he right plz help

Usually you get an awful lot of noise when a flexplate goes.



Those bolt holes is what mounts to the crankshaft itself. What you have is a broken flexplate at the crankshaft. No, your crankshaft isn't broken.

You have 2 options. Either drop the trans out and replace the flexplate that way, or just pull the engine out through the top and replace it that way. While you are in there, you should really think about replacing the rear main seal. It'* only a few bucks. Might as well do the oil pan gasket too.
