Default RPM Limiter question

vehicle : 2019 Express Van G4500 cutaway
engine : L96 6.0L gasoline

Hello,
I heard that there is a RPM limiter at 4000 rpm when you are in P/N.
I was wondering if there is any other RPM limiter except for the one I have mention.
Thank you.

Depending on what the manufacturer may set up, you could have different max RPM for each gear also. There are so many variables in software these days, its hard to keep track.

No I'm not racing.

I have another question.
When there is a torque limit and if we have reached the torque limit what happens?
Does it shut down something ?
For example when there is a RPM limit, once we reach the limit the computer cuts off the fuel and when the RPM is back to the programmed number it reactivates the fuel.

So I was wondering if there was something shut down when we reached the torque limit. If yes, how does it work? Does it come back like the fuel comes back?

Instead of turning the fuel off, it cuts it back. The PCM does this by either turning the injectors completely off, or just by turning them on for a shorter period of time. Or if it wants PE(Power Enrichment)mode, it turns the injectors on longer per pulse.

What is it that you are looking for?

thank you.

I heard(from an American engineer) that due to torque limit it can shut down Ignition plugs. So i wanted to double check if that was correct.
because my ignition plugs where shut down but not the injectors.

The engine was on a dyno. we were at about 4000rpm when suddenly there was "POP POP POP" sound coming from the converter and the converter was HOT RED. so we went back to idle but still had the noise. We turned of the engine off wait few minutes and cranked back. we still had that noise even at idle. So we checked everything and noticed that the sensor 1 and 2(I think they called it ho2s sensor) on the bank 2 side converter were dead. We changed the sensors and crank back. But this time the engine was not making the same noise as usual. So with the engine still running we did fuse, wiring check but everything was okay but all of the bank 2 side ignition plugs were not working. So we double checked fuse and wiring, everything still good. But when we did the O2 sensor relearn the ignition plugs were working back straight away.
So we think that it was due to torque limit the ignition plugs were shut down as the engineer told us. But we don’t understand why it didn’t work back until we did the O2sensor relearn.
