Plugs are fine. A lifter exploded in the block.

Your camshaft is now junk.

Drop the oil pan, pull all your main caps and inspect bearings for damage. Same goes for connecting rods. Oil pump is now junk.

At the most, you are looking at a full rebuild, or reman.

Ouch. Sorry.

This doesn't happen often across all fairly modern engines, and I've never heard of it on a LV3. 2014 was the first year of production though, so maybe something was missed.

Out of curiosity, any idea(*) about contributing factors (mileage, abuse, run low on oil, programmer, etc.) ?

nope none. Always check the oil changed it at ever 5-6k miles. Never used it to tow anything heavy. It was just out of nowhere. It’* only had 92k miles on it.

As far as I knew the LV3 was fairly bulletproof and happy to quietly be abused for its entire life in landscape trucks and the like.
