Default GM Truck Gauges 03 - 06

Need some opinions here. I have a 2005 GMC Sierra and My speedometer went crazy last weekend. It is sticking an jumping all over the place. Truck is running fine and all other gauges on the cluster are working fine. Ive looked all over this forum and havent seen anything else really about this. I did find an add on craigslist from a guy local to me saying he rebuilds them because of this issue. I dont want to take this add as fact so I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with these as well and can confirm any of this. Im copying the Craigslist add below as well.

Thanks

Yes this is a rebuild for ALL MODELS IN 03-06 Chevorlet and GMC Cluster panels, the gauges go out on them, so if your truck, car or suv has sticky or dead gauges this is for you, dealerships don't tell you they can rebuild your gauges ,they just charge you $500-$600 for a new cluster panel . I completly rebuild your gauges, Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche, Envoy,Trailblazer, Caviler, Denali,Escalade,Impala, and H2 Hummer and many more. """I used to work for GM and have rebuilt thousands of gauges"". The 03-06 models have bad parts in the computer board and I replace those with updated new parts . Just give me a call before you pay to much elsewhere!!

i dont know how much he charges, but the stepper motors are a common issue. there are places that rebuild them but i havent used one myself.
