Ox sensor right was recently change, very few miles down the road check light came on. Scan tool showed slow response a few miles late light went off, again after a few miles ck light came on again. Again it showed slow response, shop says sensor is fine but it has a computer issue. Does that sound right???

I took it my local shop that I have used for a ton of years, he showed me the screen which a line said slow response. I am sure the code was there I just did not take note. I have a scanner I will look for the code though the light is out now, not sure if I will get I may have to wait for the ck light to come back on.

Computer issue doesn't sound right, but I'd love to know more specifics.
Either way, at 18 years and however many miles, when one oxygen sensor fails I'd just replace all of them. They've all got exactly the same excuse to fail when only one fails.

The computer looks at the time it takes the sensor to go from lean to rich and rich to lean and if it takes more than a set time (under 80ms) and if they are slow to switch it set the code.
Did you use an OEM sensor?

Why would I junk my suburban when it is running great, tail pipe color is consistent with a clean running engine.
I probably should have mentioned a tech I know said the issue would just go away. He said he ran into the problem a few times over the years, all but one cured itself.

My tech buddy is an old fart like me both in our 80'*, he explained it was nothing more ten a fancy bimetallic valve with no moving parts, It has a element that changes value along with exhaust temps then reports to the computer which adjust to match rich/lean conditions. I trust him with road stuff, he hits me on marine and diesel stuff. We were both on the wrenches longer then most up here are old. That puts us both way behind the younger bunch'* tech knowledge but still useful with the older restoration items.
