"Another unexpected $360...."

That is pricey, very pricey. At least you are going to eliminate the OEM remote oil filter lines; which are known to be perennial leakers.

Good idea fairy..... might be a good time to flush your heater core with the hose. Will take you less than 5 minutes with the engine out. The S10 cores seem to collect garbage and restrict coolant flow, thus results in premature failure.

Yep, already flushed the radiator core. Directly behind the vertical core support it was packed full of bugs and leaves an crap.

More money...another $38 for an adapter to mount the filter relocation kit to the engine.

Excuse my rambling on, but this is a copy/paste from a PM I sent to someone...

I've purchased twice from Summit now. I love that they are just across the border in Ohio and shipping takes 2 days. Plus the instant email with shipping/tracking, I don't have to worry about hounding them for a tracking #.

Anyhoo....here'* the info...

With the oil filter relocation kit, you get different sized fittings for different sized filter fitting applications. You just find one that fits the adapter or filter and put it into the housing and its held in by a snap ring. The black round thing on the right is what I came FedEx from Summit today.$38.

The black adapter must be put onto the engine first mounted with the 2 screws, but in the pic, I have it threaded onto the silver adapter...

And then everything connected together...

Default Its alive!!!

Today I finished rewiring the injectors and connected enough things to make it run. In the video, you can see where I'm using HPTuners to upload a different file to make it run. Then its, key off(to reset the PCM) key back on to prime and it only took 2 seconds to kick off!!! Then ooops!!

Why do you have to use the black adaptor, instead of just screwing the silver piece with the threaded inserts on to where the oil filter used to be located? Where do the 2 screws for that adaptor go?

Trans cooler lines are better than forgetting to drop oil in the engine. Congrats on getting it started first time!

Roy,

I think I MAY be able to answer that. On the S10/ Blazer/ Bravada the oil filter is not located on the block. The filter is at a remote location. The OEM remote filter design made for many oil leaks and costs to replace the remote lines. GM should of made a design with the filter somehow mounted to the block.

on 4wd sbc'* the filter has a 90 deg adapter attached to the block, that black piece takes place of that screws into the block and gives you threads like if you were installing a strait up and down oil filter, then the silver piece with the tubes takes the place of the filter to remote mount it
